I observe themes of emotional close connections and divisions as well as my deepening sense of time and history. I feed these images elements generated from emotions, daydreams, and imagination. These themes are inspired by my heritage in Baghdad, Iraq and also by being a North Carolinian for the past thirty-plus years.
I create surreal atmospheres that interpret my narrative subjects and express my connections with the world. I use a dry brush technique in painting in Acrylic or oil. This method works as a style I chose when the brush has a very little medium mixed with the paint applied on the surfaces. This will produce a transparent and hazy image which helps my subjects to have soft and translucent imagery. The fruit of this art is to be shared with the viewer as a visual and emotional connection. Sometimes with some sense of humor.
